The Art
of Feeling
The Art of Feeling allows users to turn their emotional memories into digital paintings.
Random Quark was commissioned by Saatchi & Saatchi Wellness to create a system that would create artworks from brainwaves.
The participants brainwaves were monitored, using an EEG headset, while they are asked to recall a particularly vivid memory.
The data collected from each participant was fed into a swarm visualisation. Each digital brush colour and movement was controlled by the fluctuating brainwaves of the participant.

Each participant received a unique digital painting reflecting their individual brainwaves as they remembered their chosen memory.
Each participant was given a printed version of their digital artwork as well as a QR code to access their individual brainwave images and video online. They are also provided a bespoke decoder that helps them decode the EEG brain data from the painting and helps them interpret the visuals.
